Reflection

Assignment 1

This assignment was the introduction to Architecture and Environment and I was intrigued to learn more. As the assignment brief mentioned, students were to be in groups made out of students from semester 1.5 as well as sememester 2.5 which I quite liked as it is hard to communicate and make conversation with individuals in the lecture hall as there is not much interaction between students. This assignment was challenging for my team and I as the site chosen was located in Johor as our teammate was the only person who lived in a corner lot semi-d. However, we managed to overcome the obstacles as a team and we definetly learned more through this assignment. A TGC i have aquired through this first assignment has to be thinking and problem solving skills, as even though our site was quite far away, we managed to figure things out and complete the assignment successfully.

Assignment 2

As we were working with the same group as we did in the first assignment, the group dynamic had a goof foundation making the working process much smoother than the first assignment. In my opinion, this assignment was more challenging than the first assignment as it required more critical and creative thinking skills. Not only that, the ideas my team and I came up with had to have solid reasoning behind each decision we made, which was what took up a lot of our time. A TGC i have aquired through this assignment is Digital Literacy, as we did not visit the site throughout the entire project, but rather through pictures and research done online/ sent from the owner of the space.
